AEROGO Balsa is made from trees that are grown in Papa New Guinea. It is then hand-picked and selected to produce the best sheets with exceptional grain, finish, and quality—and most importantly, it is incredibly lightweight—after being processed in expert, specialized kilns and micro-cut to extremely high tolerances.
 
Balsa wood is extremely soft—it can be easily marked with a fingernail—and has a color that ranges from pale off-white to light pinkish. The sheets feel uniquely velvety to the touch and have a fine, silky texture.
 
Our Balsa sheets have a density that ranges from 120 to 180 kg/m3. The 120–180 kg/m3 Extremely Low-Density Sheets are incredibly lightweight, flexible, and soft. These work well when weight is important. For creating skins and sheets, these are perfect.
 
The lightweight, robust 120–180 kg/m3 Standard Density sheets are used to cut out wing ribs or to construct the fuselage's bottom and sides.
