Two Days of RC Plane Workshop with AEROGO: From Start to Finish

Day 1: Beginning Our Aeromodelling Journey

On a crisp morning of October 28th, our group of three got up early and hopped on a train headed to Mysore. There was a sense of excitement in the air as we knew we were on our way to a special RC plane workshop. After a few hours, we arrived in Mysore right on time at 9:30 AM. Things were going smoothly, and at 10:00 AM, we entered a world of possibilities, ready to kick off two days of learning, creativity, and exciting Aeromodelling exploration. The stage was set, our fellow participants were eager, and the adventure was beginning.

Session 01: Setting the Stage for Learning

Right from the start of our workshop, the students at Excel Public School were in for a delightful surprise. The theory session, a crucial part of their RC plane-building adventure, was led by the passionate and knowledgeable CEO of AEROGO, Gouthami TS.

With a warm smile, she took us on an exciting journey into the world of Aeromodelling. She began by introducing us to the marvels of flight, sparking our curiosity about the skies above. Her engaging talk covered everything from the basics of how things fly to the joy of soaring through the air. When it came to designing RC planes, she left no detail unexplored. She encouraged us to dream big, envision the planes we wanted to create, and put our ideas on paper to design the wings. The activities she gave us were so much fun, and it was amazing to see our group brainstorm and sketch out aircraft designs with such enthusiasm. What made this session truly special, though, was us, the 8th graders. We weren't just passive listeners; we were active participants in our own learning journey.

After an engaging theory session, we took a much-needed break to enjoy a tasty meal that left us feeling energized. With satisfied appetites, we were ready for the next exciting part: building our own RC planes. The room was filled with enthusiasm, and armed with our newfound knowledge and full stomachs, we were all set to bring our flight dreams to life. Join us in the next part as we embark on the thrilling journey of building RC planes from the ground up.

Getting Our Hands on Building Our RC Planes from Scratch

In session 2, the moment we'd all been waiting for finally arrived. We were excited as we started building our very own RC planes. First, we made a checklist to make sure we had everything we needed for our group of eager student aeromodellers. Once we had everything ready, it was time for the students to mark out the dimensions under the guidance of our experts. You could feel the excitement in the air as they followed the construction plan. To make things even more fun, we split our budding aeromodelling enthusiasts into four teams, each with five members. These teams worked together really well.

The workshop area was buzzing with activity as students, armed with the new knowledge from the theory session, worked carefully and creatively. They focused on creating the key parts of their RC planes. Fuselages took shape, vertical and horizontal tails were carefully made, and wings started to appear. It was amazing to see – the birth of these tiny flying wonders, and the shared sense of achievement among the students was truly infectious. As the day went on, you could see the pride in their eyes as they realized they weren't just learning about aeromodelling; they were making it happen. The joy of hands-on learning was everywhere, setting the stage for the exciting flight that awaited these young aeromodellers.

As the sun started to set on day one of our RC plane workshop, the feeling of accomplishment was clear. The day had been a perfect mix of learning and building, and by 4:30 PM, we finished the day's activities. Our team headed back to a comfortable guest house, where we relaxed for a bit. After recharging, we went out to explore the nice surroundings and enjoyed tasty snacks. We went to a local restaurant in Mysore for dinner and had a delicious meal before heading back for a well-deserved rest. The busy schedule of day one had come to a satisfying end, leaving us excited for what day two had in store.

Day 2: Energized and Prepared to Take Flight

On the second day of our exciting RC plane workshop, we got up early and had a good breakfast to start the day with energy. We all met up and left for our workshop location at 7:30 AM, making sure we had plenty of time. We arrived at 8:30 AM, right on schedule, and you could feel the excitement in the air.

Our second-day session started at 9 AM. It was all about coming up with new ideas, getting hands-on experience, and most importantly, our young aeromodellers continuing to explore the interesting world of RC planes. The place was bustling with activity, and as the day went on, we could tell it was going to be just as awesome as the first, if not even better.

Session 1: Bringing Life into RC Planes

On the bright and sunny day two, our young aeromodellers were all set for the next part of our RC plane workshop. We started the morning by adding the important electronics to our RC planes. This step was a big deal because it was getting us closer to making our creations actually fly.

The workshop was buzzing with activity as the students got to work. They skillfully attached motors, propellers, servos, and control horns to their RC planes. It was exciting to see how they carefully connected all the wires and components. You could really feel the energy in the air as we watched our static planes turn into fantastic flying machines.

As the morning went on, you could see the pride and excitement on the faces of our young aeromodellers. They weren't just building RC planes; they were making them come to life, piece by piece.

Session 2: Soaring High - Practice and Simulation for Maneuvers

On the exciting second day of our RC plane workshop, the thrill was in the air as we geared up for test flights. Session 2 was all about practicing in flight simulations, which was a crucial step to make sure our students were ready before they actually flew the planes.

The students gathered around the flight simulation setups with excitement. Our experts guided them through the virtual skies, where they practiced take-offs, turns, and landings. It was a safe way for them to get the hang of flying.

But it wasn't just practice take-offs and landings. Our young aeromodellers also tried some cool flight patterns like double loops and different maneuvers. It wasn't just about flying the planes; it was about becoming masters at it. Each successful pattern boosted their confidence and helped them understand how to control the planes better.

By the end of this session, our students had not only learned how to fly but had also become really good at it. They were ready to take on the real thing with confidence. The day was far from over, and there were more exciting adventures ahead. We took a short break to recharge with some good food and then got back to the workshop. It felt like expert pilots were flying our planes.

Transitioning from Simulation to Real-World Flying: The Pluto 1.2 Drone Experience

Our young aeromodelling enthusiasts had been practicing flying in computer simulations. They were now excited to try flying real remote-controlled planes. We used a small Pluto 1.2 drone to help them get better at controlling and flying.

The students were thrilled and confidently took control of the drone. It was amazing to see how happy they were while they learned how to fly and control the drone in the sky.

This experience was more than just fun; it was a great way for our young aeromodellers to learn and get better at flying. They had a blast and learned a lot, proving that learning is most exciting when it's an adventure. After this real flying experience, our students were ready to fly their remote-controlled planes with confidence. The day was full of successes and more exciting adventures in the world of flying were ahead.

A Fantastic Finale: Exciting RC Plane Testing and Takeoffs

The last part of our RC plane workshop was truly amazing. After several days of hard work, the moment arrived for our students to see the results of all their efforts. In this thrilling part, the RC planes they had carefully built were put to the test. Our skilled CTO of AEROGO, Jitendra Saini, carefully checked each plane to ensure they met our high standards.

Then came the exciting part. The students were handed the controls to their own RC planes. They were so excited and thrilled. With big smiles and hearts racing, they took their planes to the skies, testing what they had created. The joy on their faces showed how successful the workshop had been. It was more than just learning; it was the fun of flying and the pride of making something amazing. These young aeromodellers turned the sky into their canvas, and they loved every moment of flying their RC planes. As the session ended, the students shared their thoughts with us, and their enthusiasm was contagious. They talked about how much they enjoyed the two-day workshop, not only for the knowledge but also for the unforgettable memories they made. It was a perfect ending to an incredible journey, leaving all of us with a sense of accomplishment and a love for aviation that will continue to soar high in the future.
